The Journey
That journey, quite literally, started from the ground up. FOX IV’s first offices and manufacturing space were located in the basement of a building in what was then known as the UPARC complex in Harmarville, PA. The fledgling company continued to serve the accounts brought over from the former organization while building its own customer base and developing new equipment. Year after year, FOX IV grew until it reached capacity in the UPARC space. The management team began searching for a new location and ultimately moved to the current facility in Export, PA in June 2001.
As FOX IV settled into its new home, the company’s growth wasn’t just measured in square footage. It was reflected in the evolution of its technology, its capabilities, and the industry itself. FOX IV witnessed the shift from barcodes printed with plates to on-demand barcode printing using thermal and inkjet technologies. From 1D barcodes to 2D. From barcodes to RFID traceability. And FOX IV’s equipment design evolved right alongside those changes. Innovations included the swing-away applicator cylinder, compact label print-and-apply systems, the first RFID label print-and-apply system, linerless print-and-apply solutions, and the patented, award-winning TwinPrint® dual-sided label print-and-apply system. The company remained customer-forward, designing both standard equipment and custom on-demand labeling systems, such as solutions for labeling spinning flywheels, helmets, drums, steel coils, locomotive rails, and more. The FOX IV team continues to develop innovative solutions to address industry and customer challenges every day.
And On to the Future
Today, as FOX IV enters its 30th year, the company stands on the foundation built by those early risk-takers in a Harmarville basement, still driven by the same commitment to innovation, reliability, and customer partnership. The team continues to expand, bringing in new talent, developing new equipment, and delivering new solutions that meet the ever-changing demands of global labeling. What began as a leap of faith has become a legacy of engineering excellence, and FOX IV remains focused on shaping the future of labeling automation for decades to come.
