Summer 2026 Engineering Intern
Sometimes you find exactly what you need when you’re not even looking. That’s how our summer intern, Sam Campbell, came to FOX IV. On the recommendation of his professor at Franciscan University of Steubenville—one of our partners for engineering capstone projects—Sam took the initiative to send his résumé and follow up with a phone call. After reviewing his background and speaking with him, FOX IV’s VP of Engineering, Rick Fox III, offered him a summer engineering internship.
Sam, now a junior mechanical engineering student at Franciscan, has always gravitated toward hands-on work. Growing up, he spent countless hours helping his grandfather, who owned a plastics molding company. Those early projects sparked his interest in engineering and shaped his love for building, problem-solving, and creating.
“As an engineering intern, Sam will be exposed to many aspects of engineering and product manufacturing,” explained Rick. “He’ll be involved in component design, part fabrication, engineering meetings, and custom projects. He’ll get to apply a lot of what he’s learning in school in a practical, real-world way.”
“It feels good to contribute to a real project. I’m excited to keep applying what I’m learning in college and seeing how it all connects.”
He’s also settled into the FOX IV culture with ease. Sam appreciates the variety of work, the collaborative environment, and the relaxed, supportive atmosphere. “Everyone is chill. It’s been great so far.”
Outside of school and work, Sam enjoys playing sports—especially basketball and Frisbee—along with weightlifting. He also loves spending time with his family and fiancée.
